An elegant 5-panel carved Oriental folding floor screen, fashioned in a rich dark brown wood, with relief carvings at the top and the bottom of each panel and with insets of various pictures of Oriental themes under glass in the upper and in the lower portions, and mirrored panels in the middle, measuring approx. 80-1/2"H x each panel 13-1/4"W. Some of the pictures are reverse painted on glass, some are reproduction prints, some watercolors, some lithographs and other prints, providing an unusual asymmetrical balance and variety. This 19th Century bone piece was originally a cane handle or a parasol handle, now mounted onto a wood base. The carving is tea-stained to add depth, and is signed in characters on the side; the carving is displayed on a square wood base. Overall measures approx. 6"T without the base.
