1123. A Large Country French Oak Buffet, ca. 1820 A large country French Oak buffet, ca. 1820, in a dark brown finish, with doors at either end and a smaller door at the center. Above the center door are two small drawers. The doors have working locks and there is a key with a red key tassel. The interiors of the doors are shaped echoing the outsides, so the doors have a little flourish when open. The front is carved and embellished with floral carvings and sits on ball feet in the front and straight legs in the back. There is a carved shell and foliate design at the lower center. There are very attractive oxidized metal escutcheons and drawer pulls to match. Overall the buffet measures approx. 72-1/2"W x 21-3/4"D x 41-1/2"H. A Fine Louis XV Style Bureau Plat, ca. 1900 A bureau plat fitted with classical Palladian and Rococo design ormolu and fine marquetry in checkerboard panels with red leather top with gilt tooled edge. Cabriole legs with ormolu adornments on the knees, terminating in ormolu mounts. There are three short drawers with the original locks, decorated with figural brass and moving bail pulls. 1130. A Carved Walnut Side Chair A magnificent carved walnut Chippendale style side chair with a needlepoint/pettipoint seat with a multicolor floral motif and nailhead trim on the perimeter. The inside back of the chair is intricately carved with flowing foliate designs and with the heads of eagles at the shoulders. The front legs are also very intricately carved with scrolling foliate forms in deep relief and more birds' heads. The gracefully flowing legs terminate with ball and claw feet, realistically carved though missing some of the talons. The back legs taper to simple pad feet.
