Pink/tan baked tablet with Cuneiform script on both sides, apprx 1-1/8" x 3/4" x 1/2". These smaller messenger tablets were carved while held in the hand.

16. Indian Sandstone Head of the Buddha, Kushan Period, ca. 2nd century B.C.3rd century A.D.
Carved mottled pink sandstone head mounted on a black metal stand. Stylized hair and ear ornamentation and heavily-lidded eyes. From the 1st through the 5th century, sculptors at Mathura were laying the foundation for Indian religious art, using the easily identified mottled red sandstone. Approx. 9"T x 6"W, on stand height approx. 12"T.

17. Sassanian Copper Relief Fragment, circa 5th-7th Century A.D.
A thin copper sheet with hand work in relief of a hunt scene with two cheetahs fighting over a kill, which appears to be a large deer, possibly characters from ancient Persian mythology. Relief has green multi-colored patina overall and has several breaks with losses. Mounted to a frosted plexi stand with mount, fragment is approx. 4" x 14-1/2". On stand approx. 7"T. Possibly Sassanian, or Greek.

A pottery vase, with a small doughnut shaped handle at one side, with a bulbous body and a flared top, the sides decorated with brown and reddish designs and depictions of a scorpion and a squirrel, measuring approx. 4"H x 3-1/4" in diameter at the widest point.

A small bronze plate with short rim, with the interior decorated with an etched roundel framing an etched stylized mythical creature over a foliate background, the roundel is encircled with a spiked design. The piece has a very nice green patina. Overall it measures approx. 6"D x 3/4"T.
