Baked clay cones, or nails, were inscribed with dedicatory inscriptions, in many duplicates and embedded into the cavities of walls of great buildings in case the building was demolished so that future generations would know to whom to re-dedicate the building. Baked tan colored tablet with finely written Cuneiform script, four lines on one side, two on the other. Wonderful surface patina. Apprx 2-1/4" x 1-3/4" x 1/2". Smaller tablets with fine script were usually written by a better scribe and therefore the context is more interesting.
