A series of five amusing hunt vignettes, probably trimmed from hand colored lithographs made after paintings by Henry Alken (British, 1785-1851). Each depicts a person having great difficulty with his mount. Each is matted and framed with plexiglas in a walnut tone frame, the sight size 2-1/4" x 3-1/8", and with the framing overall approx. 8-3/8" x 7-5/8".

171. Four "Paris Dans Sa Splendeur" Lithographs (French, ca. Mid-19th Century)
Four hand colored lithographs from a book by H. Charpentier "Paris Dans Sa Splendour," ca. 1861. One of them was printed in Chine-collé. The plates offered are: "Eglise St. Eustache," (plate 38), "Palais Du Corps Legistatif. (Chambre Des Deputes)," (plate 17), "Vue De La Seine Et Du Pont Silferino," (plate 61), "Palais-Royal," (plate 11). Images measure approx. 9-3/4" x 14-3/4", attractively framed under glass, with white matting outlined in gilt, measuring approx. 17" x 21-1/2".

172. Two Framed Antique Dioramas
A lot of two framed antique dioramas, one of "Vue du Palais de la Bourse" and the other "Vue du Chateau St. Cloud pres de Paris", each a hand colored print of the location, framed in shadow box frames, and each with a cutout of pretty ladies in "costumes du jour" or "la mode" standing in front. Each shadowbox measures 12-3/8" x 18", and probably had another outer ornamental frame besides the gilt liner in which these are now seen.

There are wonderful colors in this exotic image. The image size is approx. 5-3/4" x 3-2/8", overall the paper size is approx. 11" x 8-3/4".

179. A Pair of Hand Colored Prints
A handsome pair of hand colored prints after engravings from "Loggie di Rafaele neo Vaticano", designed by Raffaello Sanzio d'Urbino (1483-1520) and engraved by Giovanni Ottoviani, ca. 1772-1776. The original 14 images depict the decorative work executed by Rahael and assistants between 1518-1519 in the Vatican. The extravagant decorative quality is beautifully reproduced in this hand-watercolored pair, produced in the 20th Century. The sight size of the images measure 40-3/4" x 16", and overall with the silver finished frames, silk mats and gold fillets under non-glare glass, they measure 48" x 23". These are faithful reproductions made in the 20th Century.
