"Creation's Dawn". Oil on masonite, artist's name incised into wet pigment at the lower right corner, framed in a wide gilt frame, the masonite board size measuring approx. 27" x 40", and with the framing overall approx. 31-1/2" x 45". The title of the piece is written on verso in pencil and there is a label affixed to the back from the Exhibition of Contemporary American Art New York World's Fair 1939. There is also a Cleveland Museum of Art Registrar's tag #TR6077/204.
