An antique papier mache tray made into a low table by adding a newer base with four turned legs braced by metal crossed stretchers, painted black with silver striping detail, with the antique tray affixed. The tray has holes for handles at either side, a wide lip and a deep trough over which a piece of polished edge glass has been inserted. The surfaces of the tray are embellished with painted birds and flowers into which abalone chips have been set. Overall the table measures 31" x 21-1/2" x 18-1/2"H.
