A wonderful carved agate lidded urn of squared tapering form decorated with carved flowers and birds surrounding the body, the lid is surmounted with a bird holding a flower branch; the urn rests on a flared base. The piece is carved from an unusually lively colored stone. No marks found. Overall with the lid it measures approx. 7"T x 4"W x 2-3/4"D.
