| 456. A Large Art Glass Vase With Hand Painted Decoration
A large aqua art glass vase, approx. 16-7/8"H x 7" in diameter at the widest point, with gilt striping at the top, a floral spray on one side, and the image of two girls looking out to sea on the other side. There are no maker's marks found. Possibly begun with a stenciled outline, the decorations appear to have been unfinished, so the details are missing. The floral spray is outlined in gilt. Anecdotally, this piece was a gift to the ancestors of the owner from Antoy Cernak in 1921. Cernak was a mayor of Chicago was assassinated in Miami in 1933 riding in a car with President Roosevelt. 200/300 Sold $57.50 back to catalog |
