Country path. Oil on canvas, no signature found, the canvas size approx. 13" x 18-1/8", and with the original period frame overall approx. 19-3/4" x 25".
This is painted in the manner of George T. Hetzel (1846-?) Son of Christian Hetzel and nephew of George Hetzel, Pittsburgh's best known 19th Century painter, George T. was raised in the Spring Hill section of Pittsburgh and was at one point the deputy recorder for Allegheny County in western Pennsylvania. His works are often confused with his uncle, George Hetzel.
