Untitled landscape. Gouache on paper, signed in the lower right corner in ink, matted in sage green pongee silk mat in a burlwood veneered frame under musuem glass. The sight size measures approx. 11" x 9-1/8", and with the frame overall it measures 16-5/8" x 14-3/8". There is a hand-written note about the artist in French affixed to the dust cover on verso. "Alice Davis, painter born in 1905 in Iowa City - American School-Student of Charles W. Hawthorne, Sidney E. Dickenson, Charles A Cumming...Professor at the University of Iowa...Gouache".

Watercolor on artist's board, signed in the lower right corner and signed and dated Dec 1947 on verso, the board size measuring 22" x 30", matted and framed under glass, overall measuring 38" x 35-5/8". The ceramics depicted in the still life are said to have been designed by Mr. Schreckengost. This piece was exhibited in the 1948 Cleveland Museum of Art May Show, the 25th Ohio Watercolor Society Exhibition (3rd Place Award), the Syracuse Museum of Fine Art (where Guy Cowan was at the time) and other regional exhibitions.

Also in this lot is a lithograph of the same image in reverse, signed in pencil by the artist and numbered 11/18 in the lower margin, matted and framed under glass. The sight size is 14-1/4" x 11", and with the framing overall it measures 22" x 17-1/2". The artist was said to have hand colored the first 9 of the lithographs in this edition of 18.

An unsigned Cubist-style watercolor on paper whimsidally depicting a young woman walking two white dogs. The sight size of the image measures approx. 11" x 8-1/4", and it is matted in a dark charcoal color rag mat and framed in a simple gilt frame under museum glass, overall measuring 16-1/4" x 13-1/4". Inside the framing, the paper on which the watercolor is executed is spot-glued around its perimeter to another piece of white paper on which a brown ink line has been penned. The sheet is held into the matting with corner mounts.
