587. Porcelain Blue and White Bowl with Enamel Decorations, Daoguang Style Mark
A thinly potted bowl with gracefully flared sides and a straight ring foot. The exterior is decorated with a blue and white 'cracked ice' and prunus design ground, featuring two large medallions with floral enamel decorations, and two smaller medallions depicting floral motifs. The rim on the interior is decorated with two concentric bands (please note the uneven pigment on the bands). The base has a Daoguang style blue underglaze mark. Overall the bowl measures approx. 2-3/4"T x 6"W.

Dated 1762 on verso, this 13" tall vase has grass writing with a stenciled bamboo design in an early souffle glaze. It has a resist base and sticker stating that this is from the Victor Rienaecker Collection. The vase opening is approx. 4-1/2", and it stands approx. 12-3/4"H.

596. A Glazed Porcelain Blanc de Chine Kuan Yin
A marvelous Blanc de Chine Kuan Yin, seated on a kneeling elephant and holding a blossom, executed in excellent detail. The glazed porcelain measures approx. 9"W x 6-1/4"D x 14-1/2"H. This figurine was made ca. the late 19th Century or the early 20th Century. It has a slightly ivory tone to the clear glaze which can be seen puddled in the crevices with tiny trapped air bubbles. This depiction of a Kuan Yin traditionally signifies good fortune and overcoming obstacles.

The front of the first carving depicts a dragon playing with a pearl, a mythical creature on top and a bat, an auspicious symbol, on the back. The carving measures approx. 3"T x 3-1/2"W x 1-1/4"D. The second piece was expertly carved out of a two-tone specimen using the colors in the design of the piece, featuring a pale brown dragon playing with a pearl over a mountain, the side of the carving incised with Chinese characters. Overall the piece measures approx. 2-1/2"T x 2-3/4"W x 1-1/2"D.
