678. A Superb Pair of Cut Crystal and Dore Bronze Obelisk Candelabra, French, ca. 1890
A superb pair of cut crystal and bronze dore obelisk candelabra made in France, ca. 1890. Each piece measures 22-1/4"H and has four candle arms spreading approx. 14" x 14". The base of the obelisk is 5" square and is set on circular feet with beaded detailing for an overall 6" x 6" measurement. The candle arms are beautifully detailed with classical motifs and charming faeries with small wings on each. Each candle cup has a removable bobeche insert with a beaded lip. No maker's marks were found.

679. A Pair of Doors From India
A pair of doors from India, made in wood, and with the entire front surface embellished with applied pieces of mother of pearl in a lattice design with flowers in each section, with star-shaped brass nailheads decorating each cross piece. There are lion's head door pulls with rings in their mouths made in cast brass. Overall the piece measures approx. 75"H x 48"W x 3-1/2"D, surrounded by old wood framing.

A hollow steel metal container with spring latch for dispensing gun powder. The end of the latch is shaped as the face of a dolphin. The bowl in a convex repousse shape of a scrolling vine, and with a decorative image on the flat lid depicting two solders with a dragon in relief. The flask measures approx. 5"W x 2-1/2"D.

682. A Magnificent Double-Handled Amphora, ca. 17th/18th Century
A magnificent double-handled Amphora, ca. 17th/18th Century, fashioned in mixed metals, measuring approx. 20-1/2"H x 12" in diameter at the widest, plus the handles. The body is formed in copper and the handles are of cast bronze with applied beaten silver decorations. It has a dark verdegris/black finish over most of the surfaces. The upper handles have a relief shape of leaves and fruit, and the sides around the rim are the image of a ram with horns. Below the foliage is the image of the head and shoulders of a classical woman above a bird with wings spread. Below each handle is another handle with a duck head and foliate embellishments. The base is also decorated in relief with repeating classical motifs.

683. 19th Century Russian Icon in Silver Oklad, Moscow, ca. 1833
19th Century Russian Mother of God icon, painted on gessoed board, covered with silver oklad, decorated with a raised halo and garments. Upper left corner with an enamel cartouche, right side missing a similar cartouche. Back fitted with light brown velvet. Silversmith's Mark "F. V." in Cyrillic, assayer mark of "A.K", possibly of Andreì Antonovich Kovalbskiì (P-L # 2109), 84 zolotnik's, a crown mark within a round cartouche, stamped number 53 and 1, as well as initials "F.S." in Latin, within a square cartouche. It measures approx. 9-1/2" x 7".

685. A Russian Enameled Egg Box on a Dolphin Motif Stand, ca. 1908-1917, by Ovchinnikov
A very pretty Russian enameled egg-shaped box, measuring approx. 3"H x 2" in diameter at the widest point, accompanied by a silvered metal tripod stand with dolphins as the legs. The interior of the box has a gold wash and a hallmark at the center. The top is also hallmarked on the rim. The exterior of the egg has raised decorations with colored enamels in the flowers and leaves. The decorations depict bees between aqua/green enameled leaves and pink/white enameled flowers with garnet color cabochon gemstones in the centers. With the dolphin tripod stand, the piece measures overall 3-1/2"H. The hallmarks are of Pavel Akimov Ovchinnikov, St. Petersburg.

687. A Three Piece Bronze and Marble Garniture Set
A three piece cast bronze and white marble garniture set, with a central 5-light candleabra and two flanking matching single candlesticks. Each has been wired for electricity. The shaft of each depicts a beautiful woman in an Orientalist style costume with a turban, pointed shoes and ornately layered garments. Above each lady is a foliate patterned stem branching up into a splayed circular candle holder. Each is bolted to a rectangular white marble base. Prisms are suspended from the leaf tips. The central candleabra measures 22-1/2"H x 20"W x 8"D, and each single candlestick measures 20"H x 7" x 3-3/8"D.
