89. Mary Ellen McDermott (American, Contemporary)
"Desert Echo - Dawn." Mixed Media with pictorial enamel plaque, framed in a metal frame and measuring overall 21-1/4" x 17-1/4", signed and titled on the back of the wooden backing board, with a hand-written note by the artist about the piece taped to the back. The enamel painting measures 12-1/8" x 10-1/8" and is "floated" over a backing of pieced fabric and suede with ink designs and feathers applied to the surface.

"Dreamer". Enamel on copper and mixed media' grey suede-cloth over homasote board, with the 3" x 4-1/8" enamel plaque "floated" over a bisque porcelain face of a woman in an elaborate headdress mounted below. Overall the entire piece measures 12" x 10", and is titled on the back. The bisque piece measures 2-3/4" x 1-1/2". Unsigned.

Image measures approx. 11" square, in a contemporary gilt wood frame with canvas lining and gilt detailing approx. 19" square. Vladimir Nikolaevich Korkodym is a distinguished artist of Russia. He graduated from the College of Fine Arts in Vladivostok and later from the Surikov Moscow State Academic Art Institute; while there, Korkodym was an understudy of Gricay, Zhilinski, and Schilnikov. Korkodym's works are displayed by The State Tretyakov Gallery, as well as many private collections around the world.

"Fallen Pine" 1953. Oil on board. 10" x 13-3/4"; framed overall approx. 18" x 21-3/4". Nikolai Ovvchinnikov was born in Mizhuli village, Mariinsko-Posadski region of Russia. He started his fine art studies at the Altynsk Art College. In 1944 he joined the USSR Union of Artists. In 1951 he graduated from the Repin's Institute of Fine Art. Ovchinnikov was very active throughout his career and was awarded numerous prestigious awards and prizes for his works. Works by Ovchinnikov are now displayed in numerous regional museum and private collections, as well as many of them were bought by museums and galleries in the US, Britain, France, and Japan.
