"Bright Sky." Oil on board, ca. 1971, initialed lower right. The image measures approx. 12-1/2" x15", and with the gilt frame with linen liner approx. 20-1/2" x 23". Mark Kremer was born in St. Petersburg, Russia (1928) into a family of artists. His father was a painter, which brought out his talent for painting. Mark Kremer graduated from the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts named after Il`ia Repin). Today Mark Kremer is one of the most talented masters of modern Russian fine arts (a member of the Russian Academy of Arts, Merited Artist of Russia). The artist paints landscapes, still life, portraits and thematic paintings. His landscapes bring out the beauty of Russia’s midland, give a sense of the country’s vastness. The landscapes of Mark Kremer are executed in the traditions of Russian landscape painters; among them Kuinji, Boris-Musatov, and Rylov. Highly indicative of his work are still life compositions and so-called “windows”. Windows of Mark Kremer are “windows opened into the world”.

Georgina Nemethy is daughter of the late Hungarian-American artist, Albert Sz. Nemethy. Georgina Nemethy grew up in the picturesque Hudson River Valley. She has started painting at the age of 16, and continues the tradition of the Hudson River School, which was revived by her father in the `60-70s. She is a marine and landscape artist, mostly recognized of her ship portraits and Hudson River scenes.
