| 624. A French Sterling Silver Coffee/Tea Infuser, ca. 1838
A lovely small teapot of a simple cylinder form, decorated with acanthus leaf borders, palmettes, wreaths with ribbons along the bottom portion, figural spout in the shape of a swan's head; carved bone handle with silver floral fittings. The teapot is mounted with a removable infuser of smaller cylinder form, decorated with acanthus borders and larger acanthus leaf decorations in low relief. Topped with a removable lid fitted with a floral finial, the lis also fits the small teapot upon removing the infuser. 1st standard mark head hallmarks, and an unknown maker's mark"H L" within a cartouche. Weight approx. 18.8 troy oz. Overall measures approx. 8"T when assembled. 200/400 Sold $793.50 back to catalog |
