"Woman from Greenland", a glazed porcelain figurine made by Royal Copenhagen, designed by Carl Martin-Hansen in 1924, #12224, this piece manufactured in 1953. It is marked on the underside with the impressed letter N for 1953, First Factory Quality, and there is a letter "U" over the word "Denmark". It is a hard paste porcelain standing figurine of the woman in traditional garb, minutely detailed in polychrome overglaze decoration, and measuring approx. 13-1/4"H overall. The base on which she stands measures 3-1/2" x 3-1/2".
