Eugene is a Professor of Communication Design at The Cleveland Institute of Art, where he also received his B.F.A from in 1965 in Graphic Design. He has taught here since 1966 in Graphic Design and Typography. In 2001 he taught at the Color Management Workshop at the Rochester Institute of Technology, and in 2002 at the Bookbinding workshop at Penland School of Crafts. He has received several awards including the AIGA 50 Books of the Year, Cleveland Society of Communicating Arts Show, the New York Art Directors and Type Directors Shows, and the Society of Illustrators Show.
