| 129. An Engraving After Hamilton Hamilton (American, 1847-1928)
An engraving on paper after a painting by Hamilton Hamilton, depicting a lovely woman daydreaming, seated on at the edge of the sea. With a small image in the lower left of birds as musical notes, hand signed by the artist in the lower right margin, published in 1887 by Fishel, Adler & Schwartz, New York, framed under glass. The sight size of the piece is approx. 22-3/4" x 32", and overall with the frame 28-1/2" x 38-3/4". The birds flying overhead and the song of the sea appear to be the musical inspiration for the composition. 100/200 Sold $120.75 back to catalog |
