| 746. A Belleek Tea Kettle & Stand, Second Black Mark (1891 - 1926)
A lidded tea kettle with three leg stand, with grass decorations picked out in colors and gilt. The kettle has a printed black mark; the stand is unmarked. The spout is in the form of an open mouth bird. Overall approx. 7-1/4"T. Belleek changed its mark to comply with the McKinley Tariff Act of 1891, requiring imports to the USA to specify the country of origin. A second banner was added below the first mark, carrying the words "CO FERMANAGH, IRELAND". 500/700 Sold $230.00 back to catalog |
