764. A Worcester Covered Sugar Bowl

An early Worcester covered sugar bowl, marked on the underside with the crescent moon in blue underglaze indicating ca. 1755-1792. The ivory porcelain body and lid have a swirling fluted shape and are hand decorated in a gilt flower and foliate border pattern with cobalt blue underglaze in the designs. Overall the piece measures 5-1/4"H x 4-1/4" in diameter at the lip.
