463. A Crackle Glaze Ceramic Chinese Vase
A crackle glaze ceramic Chinese Vase, approx. 15-1/2"H x 8" in diameter at the widest point, with a bulbous shape on a tall foot and with two elephant head applied ornaments on the neck. The sides are beautifully decorated in cobalt blue foliage over either an ivory or a carmel crackle glaze with two bands of carved decorations and the elephant heads in a dark brown matte glaze. There is an impressed and incised mark on the underside, also in the brown glaze. Several stickers also appear to identify the piece as signed "Chen Hsu" "Ch'ing Dynasty 1796-1820".

464. Another Crackle Glazed Ceramic Chinese Vase on a Wood Stand
A crackle glazed ceramic Chinese vase, in a baluster form, on a carved wood stand. The vase measures approx. 11"H x 5-1/2" in diameter at the shoulder. The sides are hand decorated with floral motifs in cobalt blue over ivory crackle, and there is a carved band at the shoulder and on the lower edge with a brown matte glaze. There is an impressed mark incised with Chinese characters on the underside. Also on the underside are some stickers stating the piece is Ch'ing Dynasty, ca. 1821-50, signed by Tao-Kwang.

470. Very Impressive Japanese Bronze Studio Vase
This impressive 14" tall vase is cast in sections: the mid-section modeled with Shishi lions and peony blossoms in high relief over a polished ground with incised scroll designs, further enhanced with butterflies in low relief. A straight band is at the shoulders modeled with flower-heads over the stippled ground; concave neck designed with an acanthus leaf shapes filled with stylized foliage, all over a cloud-motif ground. The straight ring mouth of the vase echoes the floral design on the shoulders.

471. Intricate 24k Gold Over Silver Cloisonne Koro with Jade and other Semiprecious Stones
This intricately designed traditional koro features a shapely tripod base decorated with brightly colored enamels, a removable reticulated lid set with oval turquoise and round ruby cabochons and a flame shaped finial set with a red coral bead. The dragon shaped handles feature a pendent bead. The squat body of the koro is decorated with reticulated white jade medallions on each side. The gold washed interior is very bright. The piece is offered with a carved wooden display stand. Overall without the stand it measures approx. 7"T x 6"W.

A large Satsuma charger, approx. 16" in diameter x 2-1/2"H, on a small footrim. The back is plain ivory color glaze with minute craquelure and a few imperfections. The front is elaborately enameled and gilt with the picture of a warrior carrying a flaming torch intertwined with a dragon at the left and a female deity with a child servant carrying tea at the right, over a flowing surf. The scene is surrounded by an intricate border decoration, 2"W, with minutely applied details and patterns. The charger has a modern brass spring clip device attached to the back for hanging.
