A very decorative large Thai sculpture, in carved and pierced wood with deep relief, depicting a dancer with in prayer position with one foot atop the head of a lion. it is softly decorated in polychrome pigments with some gilt, to resemble a very worn antiqued finish. It stands on it's own black painted wood base. Overall it measures 65"H x 19-1/2"W x 6"D at the base.

531. A Ching Dynasty Vase Converted Into a Lamp
A Ching Dynasty porcelain vase, converted into a lamp, the vase approx. 12-1/2"H x 6" in diameter, signed on the underside "Kwang-Hsu" (ca. 1875-1908). The vase is a simple baluster shape with two handles at either side of the neck in the shape of elephant's heads, with the side hand decorated with the image of a still life with gilt accents and the opposing side with gilt Chinese characters. The vase has been converted to an electric lamp by inserting a cap and a socket at the top and attaching it to a carved wooden base with floral adhesive, so the integrity of the vase has not been altered.

532. Another Ching Dynasty Vase Converted into a Lamp
A Ching Dynasty glazed porcelain vase converted into a lamp, the vase approx. 12-1/4"H x 5-1/2" in diameter at the widest, in a baluster shape with two heads of dogs on either side of the shoulder. The vase is h and decorated on one side with flowers and an exotic bird on a branch and the opposing side is decorated with Chinese characters in black. The vase was converted for electricity by adding a cap and a socket at the top and by attaching it at the bottom with floral adhesive to a carved wooden base. In this manner the integrity of the vase was not altered. Marked on the underside T'ung Chih (1862-1875).

A glazed ceramic Kutani vase/lamp on a carved wood base, once wired for electricity, measuring approx. 11"H to the top of the cap. The sides are decorated with the vivid glazes characteristic of Kutani ceramics in yellow, aqua blue brown and plum. No finial or lampshade.

A pretty Famille Rose porcelain vase converted into a lamp by adding a cap and socket at the top, so the integrity of the vase is not altered. The vase measures approx. 13"H x 7" in diameter at the widest point without the harp. The lamp has a black textile shade in a "pagoda" shape with black and red gimp trim. The vase is covered with hand painted enameled decorations in the traditional images. Though the underside is not marked, there is a sticker reading "Tao Kwang 1850".
