An early Zsolnay glazed ceramic ewer, made for the Islamic market in the 19th century, approx. 11"H, with a pierced body and flaring base, with raised flower ornaments on the neck and a handle in the shape of a sea serpent. The piece is glazed in a clear ivory matte glaze with accents in a faience blue glaze. There are areas that are also picked out in gilt. It is marked on the underside with impressed "Zsolnay", "Pecs", "1742", "7", and the initials of the decorator in gilt.
