German 830 silver centerpiece of gracefully elongated form with undulated rim and handles, short ridge along the bottom of the piece adds interest; the centerpiece rests on four C-shape feet. Base stamped with German 830 silver marks, and signed "Wilh Hulse" Measures approx. 5"T x 17"L x 10'W. Weight 33 troy oz.

907. An Important Modern Silver Tea/Coffee Set by Finzi of Milan


An important 800 silver tea/coffee serving set designed and made by Finzi of Milan. Each piece is marked 800 and Finzi and a few have remnants of the original stickers on the undersides. The set consists of a large irregularly shaped oval tray, 23-3/4" x 14-1/4" with a slightly flared lip and a linen textured interior, a 6-3/4"H tea pot, an 8"H coffee pot, 3-3/4"H sugar bowl with lid and a 4-1/4"H creamer. The three lids have irregularly shaped cabochons of bezel-set chrysoprase atop the handles. The original receipts from Argenteria Finzi in New York, dated in 1957, accompany the lot. Appraised in 1989 for $6,000.00 replacement value.

Stamped on the side: "Beaugrand Sterling". Measures approx. 7"T x 5-3/4"W at the base. Gold wash matching offering plate is unmarked and measures approx. 5-3/4"W. Both are nested in a fitted travel case with handle.

The set includes eight 10" dinner knives with stainless steel blades, eight 9" knives with stainless steel blades, eight 6-1/4" butter knives, fifteen 5-3/4" teaspoons, eight 6-1/4" salad forks, eight 6-3/4" creme soup spoons, sixteen 8" forks, eight 5-3/4" condiment forks and an 8-3/4" serving spoon and an 8-3/4" serving fork. All are marked on the back of the handle; all but the serving pieces are engraved with the monogram "GCK". The set weighs approx. 105.05 without the knives. The set comes with a cloth container.
