Drawn from nature by J.J. Audubon, F.R.S., F.L.S. No waremarks found, cream color wove paper, paper size apprx 27-1/4" x 21-1/2". Color is brilliant. Hinged to overmat, with frame under glass, approx. 36" x 28-3/4". Provenance: Samuel L. Mather estate, Cleveland OH.

Overall matted and framed it measures 22-3/4" x 28-1/2".

Portrait of Mrs. Caroline Riedel. Colored chalk on paper, approx. 9-1/2" x 8-1/4", and with the gilt beaded frame overall 11-1/2" x 10-1/4". The old glass is passe-partoute to the backing board with spacers to keep the glass off the surface. Not inspected out of this framing treatment. There are several inscriptions on the back of the framing about the sitter. Please enlarge the detail photographs to view these inscriptions. This piece was done with exceptional quality and detail and is beautifully preserved, with a soft velvety surface.

A charming unsigned 19th century pencil drawing on paper of a small girl kneeling in prayer, framed under glass in a Gothic style architectural frame, the image size 7-1/4" x 5-3/4", and overall with the frame 10-3/4" x 9-1/2". The frame is stamped on the outside of the bottom rail made by R. M. Kulicke, and is made from a composite material with a heavily antiqued gilt finish.
