The background is painted on a canvas, depicting a hillside covered with fir trees. In the foreground, the embroidered dimensional image of a hunting dog with a duck in its mouth is surrounded by branches of oak with leaves and acorns and a pine branch with two acorns. The dog's eye is glass that appears to follow a viewer around the room. No artist's signature was found.
