An antique armoire, in the Louis XV provincial manner, approx. 90"H x 60"W x 23"D, in mixed woods, with a curving bonnet, two doors with mitred planks inset into provincial scrolling openings, and with a curvilinear carved valance and ogee legs. There are two doors on long metal hinges, openwork hardware on the front and a large key for the locking door. There is also a pretty inlay pattern on the top frieze and a different inlay at the lower center of the valance base. There are three shelves in the interior, and there is a modern magnetic catch installed at the top center to secure the doors and compensate for a slight warp. The finish of the exterior is in a rich warm brown and the interior is dark. Joints appear to be pegged and the interior woods and the back show rustic hand planing. The top is removable for moving the piece, but the bulk of the cabinet does not disassemble. Truck delivery only.
