A delicately proportioned Hepplewhite style secretary, measuring approx. 36"W x 19"D x 43-7/8"H, in a dark brown glossy wood finish with tapering legs, a hinged writing surface supported by two pull-out lopers, and a top cabinet with compartments, drawers and tambour doors. The center compartment on the top has a shell motif inlaid in lighter finish wood. The base has two drawers, each with two loop handles with stamped backplates. The piece was made ca. 20th century by Maddox Tables of Jamestown, N.Y. and has the original labels on the back and inside the drawer.
