| 531. A Ching Dynasty Vase Converted Into a Lamp
A Ching Dynasty porcelain vase, converted into a lamp, the vase approx. 12-1/2"H x 6" in diameter, signed on the underside "Kwang-Hsu" (ca. 1875-1908). The vase is a simple baluster shape with two handles at either side of the neck in the shape of elephant's heads, with the side hand decorated with the image of a still life with gilt accents and the opposing side with gilt Chinese characters. The vase has been converted to an electric lamp by inserting a cap and a socket at the top and attaching it to a carved wooden base with floral adhesive, so the integrity of the vase has not been altered. 200/300 Sold $34.50 back to catalog |
