| 532. Another Ching Dynasty Vase Converted into a Lamp
A Ching Dynasty glazed porcelain vase converted into a lamp, the vase approx. 12-1/4"H x 5-1/2" in diameter at the widest, in a baluster shape with two heads of dogs on either side of the shoulder. The vase is h and decorated on one side with flowers and an exotic bird on a branch and the opposing side is decorated with Chinese characters in black. The vase was converted for electricity by adding a cap and a socket at the top and by attaching it at the bottom with floral adhesive to a carved wooden base. In this manner the integrity of the vase was not altered. Marked on the underside T'ung Chih (1862-1875). 200/300 Sold $126.50 back to catalog |
