Untitled. Etching and drypoint on paper, signed in the lower right margin in pencil, framed under glass, the plate size 11-1/2" x 15-1/2", and with the framing overall 16-1/4" x 21". The grandson of one of the most influential artists of the nineteenth century (Jean Francois Millet, 1814-1875), Jean Charles Millet lived and worked in the Barbizon area of France for most of his life. A skilled painter, watercolorist and etcher, the younger Millet produced landscapes, architectural views and figure studies in the style of his famous grandfather. 100/200 Sold $74.75 back to catalog |
