"Canada Porcupine" numbered 8, plate number XXXVI, from "The Viviparous Quadrupeds of North America", lithograph printed and colored by hand, by J. T. Bowen of Philadelphia, 1844. Drawn from nature by J.J. Audubon, F.R.S., F.L.S. No waremarks found, cream color wove paper, paper size apprx 27-1/4" x 21-1/2". Color is brilliant. Hinged to overmat, with frame under glass, approx. 36" x 28-3/4". Provenance: Samuel L. Mather estate, Cleveland OH.
