395. A Five-Piece Vanity Set
A feminine five-piece vanity set, consisting of a rectangular mirrored tray on four ball feet with cast gilt ornaments around the perimeter and figurines of faeries and birds on either end, approx. 27" x 15" x 3-1/2"H, a circular casket, approx. 4-7/8" in diameter and a matching oval casket approx. 6-1/4" x 4-1/2"; both 3" high and set on four cast gilt metal legs. The sides of the caskets are pierced and there are applied ornaments with flowers and birds. The lids are a tinted beveled glass and the interiors have gold velvet pads. The set is completed by two matching perfume containers with fancy oval pieces of beveled tinted glass on either side, sitting up on foliate supports and with pierced gilt metal sides. The tops are smaller versions of the faerie and bird motif. Inside can be seen other gilt metal elements that hold and support the glass perfume flask. These are overall 9"H x 6"W x 2-3/8"D.

A stack of seven rosewood color stained boxes with lids in graduating size from approx. 14-3/4" x 11-1/4" x 6" to 8" x 4-3/4" x 3-3/4"H. Each has markings on the interior and some on the bottom in Japanese characters. Overall the stack is approx. 33-1/2"H.
