Shoki, the demon slayer, in carved ivory shown battling five attacking Oni demons. Very finely carved with great attention to detail, especially on the faces. 1059. A Carved Ivory Seated Woman
A carved ivory or bone figure of a seated woman surrounded by flowering branches, affixed to a carved wooden stand. Overall the piece measures approx. 12-3/4"H x 10"W x 5"D including the stand. The lovely young lady is painted in polychrome. She wears an elaborate headdress and beaded jewelry. She gazes into a circular plaque, probably representing a mirror. The foliage around the seated lady is precisely carved and dimensional, and is in a polished natural finish. The pierced wooden stand is further enhanced with lines of metal wire inlay. The figurine comes with its own fitted box.

1062. A Lovely Jade Tree in a Cloisonne Planter
A lovely jade tree in a cloisonne planter, approx. 18"H x 12"W x 11-1/2"D. The tree is formed with trunks and branches in a brown composite, permanently imbedded in the planter and surrounded at the base by chips of jade. Above are large blossoms of varying sizes and colors of jade and quartz surrounded by leaves wired to the branches and wrapped in green. The blossoms are expertly carved and polished in a realistic fashion. The container is in brass with blue rust, black, yellow, aqua and ivory designs in cloisonne around the base and the lip, and sits on four bracket feet. The container itself measures approx. 7-3/4" x 5-1/4" x 3-1/8"H.
