| 899. A Set of Twelve Wedgwood Yale Plates
Produced in 1948, this set of twelve commemorative plates made by Wedgwood depicts the venerated buildings on the campus of Yale University in cobalt blue transfer printed on cream color porcelain. Each is marked on the underside with the impressed mark as well as in blue under the glaze, and including the name of the building. They measure approx. 10-3/4" in diameter. The lot includes: Connecticut Hall, Wrexham Tower Memorial Quadrangle, Yale College from the Greenwood-Johnston Engraving of 1745, Harkness Memorial Tower, Sterling Memorial Library, Yale College Fence and Campus, Old Chapel, Sheffield Hall, Fine Arts Bridge, Vanderbilt Scientific Hall II, Walter Camp Memorial Gateway, and Old Library. 400/600 Sold $322.00 back to catalog |
