| 443. A Large Hand Made Rokesley Shop Silver Plated Centerpiece
An unusual large hand made silver plated centerpiece platter, approx. 20-1/2" in diameter with a hammered finish, in the shape of a large blossom similar to a morning glory, with Arts and Crafts style intitials in relief at one end, marked on the underside "Rokesley". The Rokesley Shop started operation in Cleveland at about the same time as the Kalo Shop of Chicago and Potter Studios of Cleveland. Its name was taken from parts of the of the owners' names -- Louis Rorheimer, Mary Blakeslee and Ruth Smedley. Established ca. 1904 through the 1920's. 900/1,200 Sold $1,408.75 back to catalog |
