1003. A Chinese 19th Century Porcelain Vase and a Square Sided Porcelain Vase
A Chinese 19th century porcelain vase, approx. 5"H, decorated with calligraphy and with a flower and bird motif, marked on the underside, and a square-sided Chinese porcelain vase, approx. 5-1/2"H, decorated with figures of women on each side and flowers at the neck, faintly marked on the underside. Both have Tongzhi marks. This is a reign mark for the Tongzhi Emperor (1862-74). We assume the vase with the China mark is later than this since the use of the mark started in the late 19th century. The other may well have been made during this period.

1005. A Pair of Ch'ien Lung Libation Cups
A pair of libation cups, of Lingzhi shape with a flaring foot and applied dragon handles, approx. 2-3/4"H x 5-1/4" x 2-1/2". They have bright turquoise glaze on the interior and coffee brown glaze on the exterior with delicate gilt designs over the brown. Each has an iron red "Ch'ien Lung" mark on the underside. One has the remnants of an older label from a Parisian dealer.
